How long have you 
been in business?
Celebrating 4 years, opened July 2021.

How did you get started? 
What are other prior businesses 
or projects you have done to lead 
you in this direction?
Owners Barb Caprile and Bruce Krajcir are passionate art lovers. 
Barb’s dream of having her own gallery originated with prior job managing the Morning Glory Gallery at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Milwaukee. When it closed during COVID, the couple found, by chance, the perfect location for 
Galleria Greendale.

What changes have you 
seen over the years?
The Galleria believes in the SHOP LOCAL movement and offering original artwork made by talented artisans. The Galleria began by selling work by more than 50 artists from Wisconsin and the Midwest, and then expanded representing artists from across the U.S. The focus has always been offering original and unique, impeccably crafted pieces that you 
will not find anywhere else.

The inventory then expanded to include apparel, when many customers continually requested women’s clothing. Barb tried a few short runs of some unique items, and the addition of apparel became a natural extension of the business. Women now shop for everyday wearables, special pieces for an upcoming event or trip, or even a new top for their yoga class. Jewelry, handbags, scarves and other accessories complete an ensemble.

What message would you most 
like to share with people?  
The Galleria is a colorful, warm and inviting spot. Peruse the inventory with new work arriving weekly. If you are looking for fashion, try things on and let us help you curate a special outfit. Or, choose a handsome wedding, birthday or anniversary gift. Whatever the occasion, the Galleria is ready to assist and recommend. 

What events is the Galleria participating in during the coming months?
Visit Galleria Greendale for special offers during all special events, when the Historic Downtown Business District is alive with Saturday Downtown Markets, Sidewalk Sales, Concerts, Store Specials and more. Markets (starting June 21), Garden Walk (July 12), 4th of July Celebration and Village Days (August 7-10). Visit greendale.org.  

What would you like people to know 
about your business?  
We offer a very eclectic and unique mix of merchandise, always something new when you stop in. Outstanding jewelry, glass, garden art/sculpture, painting, apparel, mixed media and decorative accessories.  

What is the biggest compliment customers give you?
When customers often express their affection for our unique assortment of merchandise and the enjoyable “vibe” our store offers. They describe our store as their “happy” place, where they come to relax and re-energize, surrounded by beautiful art.

 What are you most proud of?  
The creation of a unique and attractive store like no other in the area. SHOP LOCAL here and enjoy the positive experience. Enjoy the gorgeous perennial garden outside the store. We are a stop on the annual Greendale Garden Walk, Saturday, July 12.

How many employees/family 
work with you?
Barb and Bruce, with help from 3 part-time staff: Brenda, Mary Jo and Veronique.

How many artisans are featured 
at Galleria Greendale?
Started at 50 and now around 80 and continually growing.

What are you most grateful for?
We are extremely grateful for our handsome space and loyal customers. We hope to brighten their day (and their wardrobe) and get so much pleasure visiting with/and helping them.

 What are your plans, hopes 
and dreams for the future?
We hope the love for our store will continue on, as we just renewed our lease. Greendale is a charming location to call home!
